Funeral services for Christopher Casey Braden, age 43 of Dallas, TX will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday May 12, 2014 at Newman Park Christian Center. Brother C.H. Pritchett and Rocky McCool will be officiating. Pallbearers are: Jeff Boyd, Dana Boyd, Forrest Davis, Jason Braden, Chris Story, and Bobby Garcia. Interment will follow at Laurel Oaks Cemetery located at 12649 Lake June Rd, Mesquite, TX Christopher Casey went home to be with the Lord May 8, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Casey as known by family and friends was born July 4, 1970 in Mesquite, TX. to Joyce Ann Boyd and Gary Lynn Braden. Casey spent his childhood and school years in Pleasant Grove attending Nancy Moseley Elem., Burleson Elementary, Newman Park Christian Academy, and H. Grady Spruce High School where he graduated with honors. Casey loved football and played quarterback as a little leaguer and also was a pitcher in baseball. He also played high school sports and later played two years for the Dallas Colts. Casey was very smart with numbers and became a part of the Blazer Financial team. Casey was a very loving friend to all who knew him, never speaking evil of anyone. He loved sports and was an avid T.V. sports fan. Casey loved and respected the Word of God and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Casey is preceded in death by his biological father Gary Lynn Braden. His is survived by his mother, Joyce Ann Boyd and father Robert H. Boyd, brother Jeffery Dion Boyd and Dana Allen Boyd, sister Codi Shelene Kapiloff, Tabatha Whiteley, and Alisa Caldwell, paternal grandmother Margaret Braden, maternal grandmother Delores Davis, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Casey will be sorely missed by all but we rejoice with him knowing he is now resting in the presence of the Lord. Visitation will be held Sunday May 11, 2014 at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home from 3:00­5:00 pm In lieu of flowers you may contribute to Newman Park Christian Center to support the preaching of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
