Carter McCamy was one of the nicest people you'd ever be lucky enough to meet. He was also a good athlete and student. He was humble and kind and a good friend. My son's name is Carter. You know how when you're trying to pick a baby name, you dislike certain names because of people you knew in the past with those names? When my wife suggested the name Carter for our son I thought about Carter McCamy. He was the only guy I ever knew with that name, and I said "Yeah, Carter would be a great name. I went to school and played football with a really nice guy named Carter".

I just smile when I think of Carter. I can just picture him and almost hear his laugh! I know that he is thought of often by many people.David Langston
The best memory of Carter is when a bunch of us went to Marc Evan's for a "Weekend Warrior" bash. We had split up into teams one group chasing in the dark while the others hid.We did it in a pasture of tall grass.Hiding perfectly. The others didn't realize it but they left perfect trails leading to them. But not me,I leapt over to hide undetected.I soon hear Carter saying "The trail stops here,I can't find him".I then jumped up straight at Carter, fear in his eyes.(I was taller than Carter and outwieghed him by at least 100 lbs.)The war was then on with all of us rolling around the pasture well after midnight. This is my memory of Carter with him healthy and happy and laughing. It also what I miss about him the most.Geoff Russell
Carter was everyone's friend for a reason. He just had that personality that everyone wants to be around. It's really in his family. His brother was the same way back then. His parents did a great job raising their kids.
