I actually graduated from West a semester early in order to leave an extra space in the parking lot for the rest of you. I didn't make it back for graduation as I was in Germany at the time doing extensive research on the local pubs. I attended the U of Iowa where I met my husband Jim, thanks to Roger Johanson. ( some days I thank you Roger, then there are the days I curse you for having that dorm party. Fortunately those days are few and far between) We've been married since graduating from Iowa in 1978. My degrees are in Social Work and Sociology and I worked as a foster care caseworker for about 5 years until I began my 16 year maternity leave. During that time we moved around a bit before landing in Des Moines in 1986. I went back into social work for awhile with the Department of Human Services. When my job was elimnated due a round of state budget cuts I became a Realtor.
