Connie was a sweet girl. We met in junior high and stayed friends all of these years. She adored her kids and was a very proud mom. She loved cats and had many over the years. One time she came home and found her brother and husband hurriedly trying to bury one of her cats that they had accidentally hit and killed. That was a story she would love to tell over and over. When Eric was born, she started her journey to become a very nurturing soul. She took in everyone and everything. When her mother-in-law became "difficult" for the nursing home to keep her housebound, Connie insisted that she live with them. She was able to stay with Connie and Ray until she died. Then Connie's sister's two girls needed a mom, Connie went to great lengths to add them to her household. It took many years and a lot of legal dealing, but Connie gave them a home and family to belong to. It was an amazing achievement for Connie and the girls. Connie's daughter Jessica gave her a grandaughter and twin grandsons. Connie just beamed when she spoke of them. She followed their school activities and again, showed them love of family. When Connie's mother passed a few years ago, Connie was at her bedside holding her hand and talking in her ear. This was just natural for her. Connie visited me when I lived in California and then came to see me here in Phoenix a couple of times. We always just picked up where we had left off - two girlfriends from Davenport with a long history. I miss Connie dearly. I have missed her everyday since she left here. She was such a sweet girl.
