This is a shock that I'm having a hard time getting over. I didn't know Paul in High School, but came to know him about 30 years ago. He was my brother-in-law Richard's best friend. Rich actually died about a year ago, and I know that he and Paul are reunited and discussing old times! They both are gone much too soon.
Paul and I became close, and talked every week or so. We went on many hunting and fishing trips together, along with several other partners in crime. I don't think you ever get to know someone until you've stayed for a week or more in a one room hunting cabin! ;>)
Paul was in the hospital recently, but certainly seemed to be on the mend. I toId him we needed to get out on my boat for a little fishing soon. This was not to be. I discovered that Paul was funny, caring, and I think he loved to annoy people! This was always done with good fun intended. And one of his favorite sayings was: "You miss me when I'm not around, don't you" Well, he was right! I do miss him!
I wish God's grace and healing for Paul's entire family!
Say Hi to Rich, Paul
Love ya, buddy!
