Mark was a good friend and maybe the best athlete I ever knew. During track practice in 9th grade, I once edged him out in a 100-yard sprint, something that never happened. Afterwards, I was feeling pretty pleased with myself as he came over to congratulate me. As he walked away, I noticed he was wearing ankle weights. Happy trails, Marcus.

Lori was the first person to dance to my music. I have to say her dancing was much better than my playing. Recently I told her she was one tough cookie. She said she was tired of being tough, and gave me a little smile. Now the dancer has become the dance, and whenever I play or dance I will think of her.

It was my privilege and pleasure to know and love Dean, right up to the end of his life. He attended our weekly Course in Miracles study group for many years and his artistic point of view was a wonderful influence on us more analytical types as we explored our faith and spiritual awareness. I also spent a lot of one-on-one time with him as his health gradually deteriorated over the last year. I know he had fond memories of his classmates and some regrets that many of those relationships did not remain close over the years. I certainly will miss his wisdom, kindness, generosity and wonderfully dry sense of humor.

I've wanted to post for a while, but words fail me. Loved him for many years since meeting in school, for all the same reasons you've posted here. Nothing, not even his passing, can ever change that.
