Cheryl Lynn (Barr) Johnson
JOHNSON (BARR), Cheryl Lynn age 45, formerly of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 26, 2010. She was born on April 5, 1965, the second of three children born to Melvin Nathaniel Barr and the late Evelyn Delores Barr in Dayton, OH. Cheryl completed her high school education in 1983 and attended International College of Broadcasting in Dayton, where she earned her Association in Communication Arts in Radio and Television in 1986. She began her career in 1999 as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the San Antonio Hospital in California. She went on to obtain her A.A. Science Degree as a Vocational Nurse in 2002. She then obtained her credentials as a Licensed Vocational Nurse with the State of California Board of Nursing Education and began working as an LVN in 2002. She most recently worked at Kindred Hospital in Ontario, California. Cheryl was a faithful member of Faith Fellowship Church in California since 2005, and of Phillips Temple CME Church in Dayton. She was a kind, fun-loving and active person whose favorite memories are of times spent with her children and other family members. She is preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Delores Barr. Cheryl leaves to cherish and honor her memory: Her father, Melvin Nathaniel Barr; her children, Chantel Renni Johnson, Christopher Allen Johnson, and Charde Nicole Johnson, all of Moreno Valley, CA; brothers, Melvin Nathaniel Barr, Jr. of Dayton, OH and Timothy Allen Barr of Moreno Valley, CA. She is also survived by Grandmother Gladys Barr and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral service 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 3, 2011 at PHILLIPS TEMPLE CME CHURCH, 3620 Shiloh Springs Rd., Trotwood, OH, with Reverend Jason Bunger, officiating. The public viewing will be held at Phillips Temple CME Church, Monday, January 3, 2011, 9-11 a.m.; the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Dr., Moraine, OH.
