Today, I finally tracked down Tom’s parents only to find out that he had died earlier this year of cancer. Hearing the news was so hard, but it may not have been as hard if I had not been sooo excited at the thought of finally getting to talk to him after so many years of losing touch! Tom had sent me an email in either 2006 or 2007 via Classmates.com, but I was unable to open it and now I may never know what he wanted to share with me. (I had emailed him first and then my subscription had expired). I have so many fond memories of Tom. He was kind of quiet and on the shy side, so it was hard to get him into a photo, but my memories are still pretty vivid going all the way back to freshman year. We had homeroom and Mr. Ward’s pre-algebra class together. We cheered the U.S. Hockey team to their Olympic victory and sang Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall”. I used to watch him bowl, because Tom and my boyfriend Joey Viers bowled on Saturday mornings at Poelking Lanes on Wilmington Ave. That was in 1979 and 1980. Tom was in Machine Shop, so he had classes with Dale. Tom and I still kidded around all the time at Co-op, but I never really got to see Tom much after high school.  I think that the last time I saw Tom was at Dale's funeral.  He had moved to Florida. Tom was a great guy and I am sure that he is greatly missed by all those who really got the chance to know him! May God bless and take care of the family Tom left behind…

I did not know Thomas Hart very well but he was always kind to me and he always had a smile.  I used to be around the guys in machine shop a lot and he always made me feel comfortable and was always considerate.  God Bless You Thomas!
