Ok all...Dinner is done...& I got a night planned to watch to see what our future holds in store for us, folding clothes & being thankful the mud sling is over for at least another 4 more years.

Drugs scared the hell out of me. I remember watching a 'drug' movie during halftime of the '79 Super Bowl, and it totally freaked me out...Dude was trippin' on Angel Dust and it affected me for years.

I met a girl at Michigan State. Her name was Frosty. She came from a very wealthy family, had a pretty serious drug habit...and I was in lust. We would go to bars, house parties, and just hang out afterwards. Other than being an alcoholic, I was squeaky clean. One night, she convinced me to hit the pipe. She could be very 'persuasive'.

Needless to say I didn't like it, and went right back to my fifth of Five O'Clock Vodka.

I can't believe you remembered Sunnyside. That's hillarious. It was right next to Tom's Ice Cream and across the street from Omar's Bar. The pervert at Fisca Gas Station would hit on my mom in the '70's.

Was the movie called "Dusted"? I remeber the guy thought he could fly and was about to or did jump off a roof of a tall building.

I watched "My mom's having a baby" trying to get the answers because I was scared to ask my parents.

One year, Romas gave me a can of Budweiser for Christmas when we were in high school.

Funny! I think you're right. I just Googled it and it's called Angel Dusted...

Synopsis:Parents try to help their teenage son, berserk from smoking marijuana laced with PCP

PCP, a deadly drug commonly known as Angel Dust, made its first destructive appearances on the street in the late 1970s. In Angel Dusted, Jean Stapleton plays a cloistered housewife/mother who knows little and cares less about drug problems. Her son is a hard-working college student who decides to experiment just once with marijuana. The boy freaks out after smoking pot laced with PCP--and it doesn't look like he'll ever totally recover. Adding texture to the film is the presence of the film's screenwriter Darlene Craviotto as the boy's psychiatrist--and the presence of Jean Stapleton's real-life son John Putch in the role of her on-screen son. Angel Dusted was based on a book by Ursula Etons. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

I hung out at Sunnyside a lot my senior year. Duane Allen worked there and boy did we get in some trouble.

I remember Duane working there. Serge Masyra and others worked there, as well. I worked at Farmer Jack in high school. I worked w/ Steve Fry and Rory Badge's brother (forget his name), but this dude played wicked drums (2 empty two liter bottles) to 'we're not gonna take it' by Twisted Sister. I thought he was the coolest mother f'er around!

My wife's at dinner w/ a girlfriend, so I'm hanging out w/ Annamarie. I need to get a life, but I don't totally suck, do I?

Good old Farmer Jacks. I can't remember where my mom shopped but she got these green stamps and I had to put them in books for her and she would come home with the craziest looking dishes and glasses. Why she just couldn't just go buy food and come home was beyond me!!!

make the most of your time while she is young. You're going to miss it. There is just something about Dad's and their little girls.

Ha! I used the dishes my mom got from Farmer Jack's when I bought my first house.

I worked at the small store at Outer Dr and Pelham, and spend my breaks eating pepperoni rolls from Pizza King and reading Hit Parader magazine. I couldn't get enough Motley Crue, RATT, and Dokken.

Understood. She's coloring and I've been walking over to her every two minutes, giving her kisses and hugs. She gets tired of it, but oh well.

Love it! The bands you mentioned made some of the best music of all time, and it's nice to know that the younger generation appreciates it.

About 20 minutes ago, Annamarie noticed 'ice cream man' in my I-Tunes. She wanted to hear it, then asked me to turn it off about 20 seconds into it.

Look at the picture I posted of her about an hour ago. How could a dad resist this face?! (ha)

you have a MAC?

11/04/08 08:56 PM #540

Robert Hooker

No, but I understand that this is what the 'kids' are getting into (?).

I'm actually working from a Vic 20.

Daughter has a lot of graphic classes so we had to get a MAC. We also have 3 laptops and deck top. Yes that would be 5 computers and not to mention 2 laser printers and scanner. This is what happens when you have a spouse who has a BA in computer systems and works for IBM. If we get regular mail, its an insult....lol

are you playing pong? hear the graphics are bitchin on those vic 20's

11/04/08 09:04 PM #543

Wow.

By the way, I was kidding about the Vic 20. Is Obama really going to win? Say it isn't so.

Annamarie just said she wants John McCain to win because 'he wears fancy clothes'.

I just read your response to the Vic 20, and laughed out loud. Gorf was pretty cool.
