Hello, to all from Northern Michigan, a far cry from Dearborn. Mancelona has had 9 1/2 feet of snow so if anyone is looking for skiing or any other snow sports this is the place to be. Schuss Mountain has great skiing and even dog sled rides for the kids. Here is a little FYI for all the Whitmore Bolles alumi, If you had Mr. Janich for 5th grade, him and his wife are celebrating 60 years of marriage. Talk about feeling old. It amazes me that so many of us have found totally different pathes than what we wanted to be in high school. I just have to say that I can't wait for the reunion. Can anyone one tell me what happened to the Crowley's building on the corner of Michigan Ave. and Outer Drive? I haven't been in Dearborn for about 15 years and the only thing I miss is having a store within 10 minutes from the house. I also would like to know if Mr. Morga is still teaching? I heard about him about 7 years ago and he was still teaching. Everyone should be very proud of their great looking families. Thank you to all who put this together.

Crowley's at Outer and Michigan was torn down and a Kroger's built, I don't know, maybe 5 years ago???!?!? Go to Google and then Microsoft Virtual Earth, you can see a Satellite view and Isometric 45 deg. view from all four angles! You can actually see the words Kroger from the North face! Enjoy and Happy New Years!

About the song...As I remember the Billy Joel song was our prom song, but Never Say Goodbye may have been our "class" song. Just this summer or last I remember hearing the Bon Jovi song and telling my husband that it was our class song. It was just a flashback so it may have been totally wrong. These 20 years can really dull memories!!

Thanks to those who set this all up and keep it running. Love hearing what everyone is doing and what they look like now.

Becky-

How do you know about Mr. Janich. My sister and I were talking about him the other day and wondering if he was still alive.

Dom,
I had him for fifth grade. His wife and him have been in contact with my husband and I since our wedding day. They have always sent a Christmas card and they look great. They live in Norcross Georgia. he still looks the same, but over the last 2 years or so, he has lost alot of weight.

Hey any idea how much tickets are going to be for the class reunion?

Robert Roza

It is always a consideration when putting together an event. We'll have to see, but I believe their target is to keep tickets below $50 for everything.

I am so amazed by the great response we're getting on the site! Thank you to everyone for participating and posting updates. I truly enjoy reading all your updates and seeing photos of you and your families. It sounds like everyone is doing great. And a HUGE thanks to Robb for posting updates and information on those who have passed. I was so saddened to learn we've lost so many and in such tragic ways. Thank you Robb for helping us to remember them.

This website is amazing! Many thanks to all those who put it together and are keeping it going. I think I've bumped into maybe three of our classmates in the last 20 years - including a 20-second "crazy seeing you here" with Shawn Cameron in Dallas Ft Worth Airport in about 1995 (he was in full USAF flight gear flying C130's). I hope I'll be able to get back for the reunion. Having all of these memories on this site is the next best thing, though. I think I've got some old track and cross-country photos that I'll try to dig up. Y'all (that's how we say it here in NC) have a great year!

P.S. - Ed, that is WAY cool about you and Shawn. There is a military link site that we can use should we need to try and get a hold of him. In Jr and High School, I wanted to be a pilot and soo that's way cool to me. I've been to FT. Worth a million-zillion times going to Silao and Leon, Mexico for General Motors, so familiar with that also. They have a National Guard based in STL (St. Louis) and you can catch the F-18's taking off and going vertical to get the hell out of commercial air space. It is soo cool and LOUD (you think commercial is loud, here fighters on afterburner)!

I see there's an icon for those that have military service, but I know quite a few that served, but the American flag icon is not showing next to your name! Please edit your profile and check the box if you did serve. You deserve it!

I ran into Tim Lavery and talked with him for about 10 minutes in downtown Chicago about 13 years ago.

Also, I flew on a C-130 a couple years ago. That was an AWESOME experience.

Dear Friends of the Class of 1989,

This letter is to let you all know that I am pulling the information about myself off this web-site. I was abused for 18 years by my step father and I refuse to be abused by the cyber space age by former class mates. There was a picture of some former classmates on a Facebook account and I made a comment and people made comments about me being demonic, (evil and demon like). I will not allow myself to be abused again by the internet. I have made up my mind that I will not make the reunion and for some people that will be no big loss. I was abused all thru high school, and now that I have lived thru therapy I will not allow people abuse me again. What was suppose to be a joke, was blown out of portion and that is the end of it. I lived with evil for 18 years and a comment about a man in our class needing the men's hair club is evil then so be it. I hope that everyone has a great reunion. Thank you for all the memories over the past few months. Good luck and have a great life. FYI, if I have connected with you on facebook, I will be pulling off there as well.

I removed the "Who's Online" feature. I got a lot of messages from people saying they didn't like it because it made them feel like "snoopers." Anyhow, snoop away (I know I love reading things on here) because you're anonymous once again.

Don't know the whole story, but the Thunderbird statue has been taken down from in front of the school. I was told it happened because some thought it was offensive. What a crock. That was the first fraternal symbol for some of us.

It really does seem like forever since we were all there. My memories are good and bad! Hopefully it seems to be we have all grown up... I'm concerned about my friend Beckie Brodd, we had e-mailed a few times and now she has removed herself. This makes me sad, we were good friends throughout high school, and we actually kept in touch for 5-8 years after. I'm not sure what happen, but please lets keep this whole thing a good thing, not something people will regret! Can't wait till then... should I bring my husband along? I would feel bad for him, he is not from around here and does not know any of my "old" friends. What is everyone else doing?

Hmm.. not sure what's going on with people getting upset and others wanting to be anonymous. I'm not ashamed to admit that I pop on here every so often to see who's new and update my pics and such. I've spoke with Jae Park recently and I appreciate the addition of classmates who didn't graduate with us, yet did spend some tenure at EFHS. It's interesting seeing everyone's pics and reading up on where they are and seeing their little ones.. or some not so little. Hopefully everyone is being respectful of the rest. But as with anything.. you have to take others negative comments lightly. I really could care less if someone made some strange comment about me. I can't imagine who would though and why. Anyways, I'm here all in fun, as I'm sure everyone else is. And as far as bringing someone with you, like significant other, I can't see how that wouldn't be allowed. I hope to see and meet everyone who said that they're going along with their wife, husband, bf, gf, pet, ect.. ok well not pet. Sounds like would be a fun time. Feel free to say hi anytime. Later, Kev

I do appreciate all the hard work going into this website. Browsing this site has been something that has occupied my time when I should have been doing something more productive. I am thrilled to see all of the success and happiness that has come to my former classmates. Please keep your families and friends close to you in your journey through life. I love the pictures of your children, spouses, significant others, and pets. Continue to keep me entertained! Well wishes to you all!!!

Wow, Kevin and Laurie, you guys hit things on the head. There's not much else anyone can say or what this is all about (except maybe inviting the dogs)! ;) We're a tight knit bunch of folks, friends, and classmates and that's why our out-reach is soo vast. We're not here for a long time, we're hear for a GOOD time! I like what I'm seeing and people being light-hearted and let's continue to keep that ideology for all time. Peace my friends and be safe with another batch of snow coming!!

New Profiles have been posted for many folks. I think we're all up-to-date on not only 1989 specific graduates, but long time classmates that went to grade, junior, and part of high school with us. Let me/us know if anyone is missed and continue to spread the word and to some of these folks that were missed initially. Enjoy and Happy Superbowl weekend! Drop me a line if you want to stop by for the game and drinks.

No agenda posted for the Homecoming, but when it comes available, I'll post the City website with the PDF file.

While I was searching around, it's a little late, but found out they had a brainstorming session last week (1/21)! Here are the links to the New Homecoming activities mlaundroche@ci.dearborn.mi.us and Department of Public Information at 313-943-2285.

I am looking into renting some picnic tables at the Dearborn Homecoming this year on Sunday. This will be the weekend of our reunion. Generally there are tables set up for classes who are having their reunions in the Dearborn area. I have been in contact with the City of Dearborn. I will keep everyone updated.
