Don"t mean to sound like a broken record, but... it is so great to see such a positive response from so many. As Laurie said, when I do visit the site, its a great distraction from what I'm "suppose" too be doing! Anyway, looking forward to the upcoming warmer weather, and good times!!!!

Well hello everyone from Edsel....it's been such a long time. I've had such a great time reading everyone's responses on here that I thought I'd just add my own. For the first time in years I've been able to get a hold of many people I've been thinking of and missed so much. I know I didn't end up being there for the last year, but I still have many memories of my time there whether they were good or bad...and some really horrible hair!!!
Well i wish everyone the best and hope to see you at the reunion.........have a great day all!

HI All, this site is grrrreat...thanks Rob. I love reading up on everyone and seeing how people look. Some so different some exactly the same. I am excited to see everyone at the reunion. I know I did not end up graduating with everyone..."my bad" but I am not the same girl...lol. I am glad to see everyone seems to be doing well. And for our fellow classmates who have passed away may they rest in peace.
See you all soon!
Ta Ta for now...Kris Wilkins (Haas)

I have finally received my contact from Dearborn about the Dearborn Homecoming and renting tables for our class the weekend of our reunion. The outcome:

The city does not rent out tables. They put out about 100 tables. It is a first come, first serve process. You get there early and mark your tables with signs. She stated that Saturday is generally West dearborn schools and Sunday is East Dearborn schools. She said that we could go either day, but Dearborn high and Fordson usually attend on Sunday and get there as early as 6 am with the pancake breakfast to mark their tables. I am not sure what everyone feels about which day? I can get there early either day. It might be tough on Saturday due to the reunion on Friday night and ending at 12:30 am. Please respond and let me know your thoughts. I do not mind taking on this gathering if there will be enough of us attending. Send me a reply or send it on the message forum. Have a great day!

I am soo glad everyone is soo excited and myself included. In regard to Kris' blog, it's understood not everyone graduated on time and down the aisle. Hell, I took night and Summer school classes because I was too busy having fun and partying (yes, partying) in HS. Personally, that turned out just fine because I didn't burn myself out in HS and actually took a couple years off before going to college (not necessarily by choice, but wanted to try the music thing first). Anyway, many classmates did not exactly graduate on time or their parents moved them away after making it until the tail end or whatever, but I don't think it would be good or a team effort and comrodery if we excluded anyone, so I and I think everyone welcomes each other with open arms (isn't that a Journey song). ;)

Yeah, I think Saturday would be cool for the table and Homecoming. It is going to be rough with a late night and drinks Friday. I'm sure we have some peeps that don't drink or may volunteer, but is we can do it, Saturday would be cool. Thanks for following up Michelle.

Also, for those of you that were honors students, I've been told a classmate may have footage of the honors ceremony before the graduation ceremony. If so, I will be digitizing it also.

Please follow up with suggestions about which day is preferred for the Homecoming. I am receiveing requests of both days. Saturday- due to classmates going back home, after coming for the reunion. Or Sunday - giving a day to relax, after the reunion and attend the Homecoming on the Sunday. I am willing to go either day to mark our tables. I would like opinions and suggestions about which day and about how many tables I should reserve for our class. Please let me know. Thanks a million. Have a great day!

Thanks so much Michelle for volunteering to coordinate the picnic! I think it will be a great opportunity to meet everyone's kids and hang out in a less formal environment. Folks, please chime in with your preference of day. And, if anyone wants to voluteer to help Michelle out, please also post here. Saturday works better for me as I will probably be leaving on Sunday. Thanks again Michelle!

I think Saturday would be a great day for the picnic tables. I might need to bring a huge supply of gatorade for all the people having a few too many bevs on Friday so we can be hydrated! Good thing there is plenty of carbs and grease nearby in the tents to soothe any sort of hangover that we might have. Thanks to Michelle for taking this over!

I will be fine with Saturday too if we end up going. I never know til last minute how my days will go, but I would love to bring the kids up for the carnival, they have never gone, not sure how long I would sit down.

Saturday will work for me too, and as Michelle knows I will help her coordinate any particulars, Even though I do not live out of state, I plan to stay in Dearborn Friday night at one of the hotels. And regarding the videos, I have none, but I do have plenty of pics, not sure Rob if you can add photos along with the video. Let me know I can get them too ya.... talk with you all soon!

I was just wondering, out of curiosity how many Edsel couples were married? It seems like our class has/had a lot!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I was just informed via John Bekolay and Tom Kerr that Sean Barrett's brother SCOTT BARRETT passed away on Thursday (2/19). I set up a Find-A-Grave memorial for him. - http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=34096481
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Scott, Sean and their family.

Peace and Love Always

It looks as if SATURDAY, August 08 will be the date of the picnic at the Dearborn Homecoming. I have had several good suggestions about putting up signs and several volunteers with this event. I am planning to get a sign up sheet in the near future where we can begin signing up for items as a potluck for lunch. I think the park has barbeque grills at this location. I will check on this and update everyone when I put out the sign up sheet. If anyone has any additional ideas on what you would like to have at the picnic or would like to volunteer and assist with the set up,send me a quick email. Thanks again. Have a fabulous week!

We have three people who have volunteered to create collages for the easles that will be set up at the event. We still need three more people to volunteer. Please let me know if you can. All you need is a bunch of pictures and some poster board to put them on.

Also, we really need help with decorations! We're looking for 2-5 people (one being the chairperson) for a decorations committee. Looking for creative and thrifty people. If you're interested, please contact Amy Parravano and she'll give you all the details, budget, etc. Remember you don't have to live close to one another or even in Michigan - you can work together via email/phone. Thanks!!

I have been in contact with Dearborn re: the Picnic on Saturday, day after the Reunion in August. There are no barbeque grills at the picnic area site! We are able to bring our own grills though. My thought is to have everyone bring their own meat and I can organize a potluck for salads and desserts for everyone to pass at the picnic. If you have any ideas or suggestions, feel free to send me a note. Have a great week!

I'll talk to Tom.

Yep, where is our Maggie Terry? Maybe she'll be chiming in after the postcards get sent out to missing people later this month.

Melissa, I can help out with pics. I have the YB plus personal, plus been collecting from everyone sharing. I'll talk to you offline.

I miss the pancake breakfast at the Homecoming..

Do you know when the pancake breakfast is? Maybe we could include this in our picnic the Saturday after the reunion? Is the pancake breakfast on Saturday or Sunday? Let me know. Will be updating soon about the picnic.

There's a pancake breakast!?!?! I didn't eve know that. That would be cool...if we're up and ok enough in the morning!

04/21/09 03:17 AM #78

Michelle Price (Turner)

I will look into the pancake breakfast with my contact for the Dearborn Homecoming and let everyone know if and when. There should be a schedule of events closer to the date also. I can keep everyone posted. Have a great week!

I have spoke to a few people about the pancake breakfast and I think the turn out for this would be minimal due to the reunion ending late the night before. Therefore, I am going to set the time for about 11 am,for us to have a potluck lunch. If anyone has ideas about what type of food you would like there, please let me know. Thank you.
