So sad to hear about Tom's passing, my deepest sympathy for the Meggison family. Tom and I were part of a fun loving ruckous bunch of guys that really enjoyed our high school days and many years after. The old gang did a lot of fun stuff but one of our greates joy was taking engines and transmissions out of old cars and rebuilding them in Tom's garage. I will never forget the bond that Tom, Jim, Andy, Tony, Tom's brother Bill, Danny, Jack and his brother Tom shared, we were like brothers. So many fond memories of those care free days came rushing back to me when I heard the news and brought a sadness in my heart and a tear to my eyes. Tom was a practicle and goffy soul and his laugh was so contagious. He would do anything for a friend in need, no matter what was required. Thank you Tom for being an amazing brother from another mother. May God receive you into Heaven with open arms.

I had known Tom since our days playing Little League Football for the D-7 Vikings.  Always knew Tom as a good-natured free-spirited guy.  A hard-nosed ballplayer.  The essence of Tough as Nails.

My brother, sister & I spent the day @ Tommy's house one time,  His Dad took us in after my Mother - on the way to visit my Father @ the VA Hospital @ Outer Dr. & Southfield Sevice Dr. - crashed the family car into the kitchen of the house @ Eaton  & Lincoln/McKinley Streets on an icey Saturday morning.

Tommy will always be rememberd fondly.

I too, recall Tom from playing football.  Although I have a team picture of us on the D7 Little League Football Team, my football recollection(s) of Tom are from High School.  Tom was a starting offensive guard and I was a second string offensive tackle (plays next to the guard).  Although I was tenacious with effort I was not a very good player.  When I got into the game and played next to Tom I always played better. I played better because Tom was a very good guard AND because he made me feel like we were stronger together.  That support was a huge incentive for a not so good player.

Off the field, Tom and I ran in separate clicks.  But Tom always acknowledged me off the field just as he ackowledged my on the field as described above.  Tom was "tough as nails"  AND "fine as wine".
