It is hard to believe that it has been twenty years. I think about you guys and all of the memories that go with those years in Decatur. I am looking forward to seeing you guys.
Ater graduation, I went to UNA for a year, Calhoun for a semester, and then to Tuscaloosa. I finished up at The University in '93. I married the daughter of the teacher that I did my student teaching for. I was literally dropped off at the door step for her. She is amazing. She is a wonderful wife and mother. It is always good to become close to the mother-in-law before you ever even meet the daughter. I coached at Tuscaloosa County High for four years. Dad retired in Alabama and took a job in Haralson County, GA. They asked if I would come with him. We did, thinking that we would go over there and coach with Dad for three or four years and then come home. That was eleven years ago. Dad had a heart attack three years ago. Very scary. He is doing outstanding today. He just had a doctor's visit last week and everything is great. We were lucky. He came back to coach the next season, but his dad got very sick. Dad got out of coaching after that season. I left and went to Carrollton High School. That was a lot like going home to Decatur. Carrollton was already the city that we lived in, but I was working in the county system. Carrollton High is what Decatur would be, if there was only one high school in Decatur and everything did not have to be split among 2 6-A programs. I teach Physical Science, Biology, and a Review Class for the High School Graduation Test. Kristae teaches 6th grade Social Studies. During our time here in Georgia, we had Katie in 2001, and Karly was born in 2004. It is like your heart is out running around. They are our pride and joys. Katie will be in the 1st grade this year and Karly is starting Pre-K. I keep up with the Red Raiders every year. It is always a great sense of pride to tell people where I went to High School. We were in Decatur a few weeks back for Coach Rivers' induction into the Hall of Fame. That was a ball. We bring the girls to Decatur every summer and take them to Point Mallard. It is always great to ride through the old neighborhoods and visit all of our old hangouts. You guys and our school and city will always hold a special place in my heart. It is were I "grew" up. Thank all of you for playing a part in a great, great, time for me. I have missed you and can't wait to catch up.
