Deerfield Academy
Class Of 1965
Welcome to the Deerfield Academy Class of 1965 website. This is an easy way for all of us to stay connected. Our 50th reunion has now come and gone and we have now joined the "Grand Classes"! We had a great time back on campus and proud to say that we "finished up strong" while having lots of fun along the way!
Please enter your own personal information/photos as you see fit. You may add or delete info if/when you wish. Have fun checking up on your classmates and clicking the options in the toolbar to the left. Let's make this work for all of us!

The Deerfield Archive has been consolidated and located in 3 rooms in the Boyden Library basement. Very nicely done and well organized. Our class underwrote the "Reading Room" to be utilized by those who visit the archive. A picture of David Howell will be hung in this room later on this spring or summer.
More "Sounds of Deerfield" clips and Interview with Bobby & Mary Merriam edited out of Class '58 50th reunion video. Thought you might enjoy: Click on link or simply copy and paste.

Hope we get some more pix put up. If you find some old shots in your attic, you know what to do with them!!
Think 55th reunion...now that we are a “grand class’!!

Guys:
I’m never quite sure what’s kosher for this group list, but figured what the hell - I might as well let you know that this classmate has a new book coming out June 6th. It’s called Built for Growth: How Builder Personality Shapes Your Business, Your Team, and Your Ability to Win, and will be published as a lead title by Harvard Business Review Press. Written with my Princeton colleague, Chris Kuenne (no Deerfield alums were available), it focuses on the personality characteristics of highly successful entre- and intrapreneurs who have built enterprises of enduring value.
Instead of addressing the why, what and how of entrepreneurship, we decided to focus instead on the centerpiece of that endeavor: the who. Using the same personality-based clustering methodology Chris pioneered at Rosetta, we discovered there are 4 distinct personalities of new business builders: the Driver, Explorer, Crusader and Captain. [If you’re curious which type you are most alike, you can take our short Builder Personality Quiz on the book website.] Whether in a standalone startup or new venture inside an established company, each builds growth in very different ways – reflecting their differing motivation, decision-making, management and leadership styles.
Built for Growth is already an advance best seller on Amazon, and we’re delighted it’s a #1 New Release in “Strategy and Competition” and every other Amazon category we’re in (although I’ll be damned if I can figure out the logic of that particular algorithm). In any event, I’d be honored if you’d like to pre-order a copy of the book, which is available now at pre-publication discounts on both Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Thanks. In the meantime, I hope all is well across your various efforts.

In order to ensure you receive important messages from our class web site, as well as messages sent directly to you from other Classmates, it's important you whitelist the email address noreply@classcreator.net (that's a .net, not a .com).
What is whitelisting? Whitelisting simply means you are telling your email program to accept all emails coming from our class web site and our Classmates. The technique for whitelisting varies by email program, but generally you will see the term "Whitelist", "Safe List", or "Safe Sender's List". This is where you want to be sure you have added the email addressnoreply@classcreator.net.
Class Creator, the system that helps us operate our class web site, uses the addressnoreply@classcreator.net when sending out email messages. Be assured that all emails sent through our site are valid — you will not receive spam email. Whitelistingnoreply@classcreator.net is the single most important thing you can do to ensure you don't miss anything happening on our site or miss receiving your emails from your fellow Classmates.
Stop and take a moment to whitelist noreply@classcreator.net right now, and ensure you stay connected!
Sincerely,

50th Reunion in just 2 years...save the date June 2015
I have added several classmates' names to the "In Memory" option in the toolbar to the left. Please review and follow the instructions given if you know of other classmates whom you know to have passed away since graduation. God Bless them all and may they rest in peace.
