Philip Morgan

 

Morgan - Philip J., was born February 2, 1947 in Connecticut and grew up in Massachusetts. He moved to the Monterey Peninsula almost 30 years ago. Philip died in San Francisco on April 1. He was a musician, writer and teacher and had led Breakthrough Men's workshops for nearly ten years, also serving on the board of the Breakthrough Men's Community. Philip was a man of eclectic interests and enormous creativity. He composed, performed and taught music, wrote short stories and novels and recently began painting. He enjoyed listening to good music of all types, reading good literature, playing tennis, spending time with his cats, Xena and Apollo, and was a lifelong and passionate Boston Red Sox fan. Philip deeply touched and enriched the lives of the men in the Breakthrough Community; his music students; his many friends; his daughter, Heather, and his partner, Lynne. He is survived by his daughter, Heather Sanders; his brother, Peter Morgan; his mother, Jean Morgan and his partner, Lynne Sexton. A Celebration of Philip's Life will be held on Saturday, April 16 at 3:00 P.M. at the Pacific Coast Church in Pacific Grove. Cremation arrangements directed by The Paul Mortuary.
