Harold Gene Brown, 75, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at his residence in Defiance.  
  
He was born on November 3, 1946 to the late Harold and Helen (Stevens) Brown in Defiance, Ohio. Harold was a 1964 graduate of Defiance High School. He proudly played the tuba for the Defiance High School Marching Band of Class. He was a faithful member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Holgate, Ohio. Harold worked for ten years for the Defiance County Highway Department. He loved his meals at Kissner's and Cosmo's, and considered the regulars as his family. He also enjoyed listening to Bud Widmer's Rube band concerts.
  
Harold is survived by his sister, Georgena (Gregg) Nanson of Lima, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents. 
  
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 11:00 am the funeral home, with Rev. David Voll officiating. One hour of visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens.
