Connie Sheik (Andrews)

I am still so saddened by Rita's passing. There are just a few people on my list that I put in my "laugh till you pee" category! We had SO much fun together, it was all just too short of a period of time. I liked to call her Doris Day and accused her of trying to have her hair style just like Doris. She could put on eyeliner better than anyone I knew and laughed so hard when I tried, unsuccessfully to do the same.

Once, she asked me to give her a perm. Sounded easy to me and she said she would tell me what to do. You can imagine my horror when she said .."time to take out the rods". So, I did and as I did so her hair came off right along with them. I think I have blocked out whatever took place after that.....

Then there was Ft. Lauderdale in 1966. I remember 2 of us waking up and I looked at the speedometer and it said 85 mph!  Rita was trying to catch up to a carload of guys we had met at the last pit stop!  I still cannot reveal everything that took place there!  It was meant to be because as we entered Ft. Lauderdale and rolled down the windows of my dad's '65 Chrysler...on the radio was "Where the Boys Are" by Connie Francis. I do know we made it there in record time and 'peeled' all the way home

Life took her to California with a friend of ours and I backed out and got married!. Was also meant to be.

Love you Rita...peace girlfriend
