Mr. Robert Allen Davis age 59 of LaPorte Street, Rome died Sunday following an extended illness. Mr. Davis was born January 29, 1947 in Napolean, Ohio son of Margaret Schwiebert Davis and the late Merlyn Davis. Mr. Davis had been employed for a number of years as a Sales Rep. for Fuji Photo Products, he had also worked for Meisel Corp. of Atlanta and was owner of photo Genie, in Marietta. Mr. Davis was a former member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion and St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ohio. He was a veteran having served in the United States Coast Guard. Survivors include: his wife, Diane Mottashed Davis to whom he was married in 1967, two sons, Rob Davis, Kennesaw; and Ryan Davis and his wife Heather of Kennesaw; two grandchildren, Abbygale and Jacob Davis, his mother Margaret Schwiebert Davis and a brother Doug Davis of Defiance, Ohio; a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial services will be held Friday 3:00 PM in the Thomas B. Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniel's Funeral Home, with Rev. Cecil Fike and Chaplin, Gary Batchelor officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Central Plaza, Box 225 Rome, GA 30161. Robert Davis ROME, Ga. Former Defiance resident Robert Allen Davis, 59, Rome, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006, following an extended illness. He was born Jan. 29, 1947, in Napoleon, the son of Merlyn and Margaret (Schwiebert) Davis. In 1967, he married Diane Mottashed, who survives. He was a sales representative for Fuji Photo Products and a former member of Elks Lodge, American Legion Post and St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Defiance. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. Also surviving are his mother, Defiance; two sons, Rob and Ryan (Heather) of Kennesaw, Ga.; a brother, Doug, Defiance; and two grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his father. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Thomas B. Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniels Funeral Home, Rome, with Rev. Cecil Fike and Chaplain Gary Batchelor officiating. Mr. Davis was born January 29, 1947 in Napoleon, Ohio son of Margaret Schwiebert Davis and the late Merlyn Davis. We knew the Davis family from the neighborhood and church and of course, the dry cleaners. Mrs. Davis gave us the homemade ice cream recipe we still use whenever we stir up a batch. John & Evelyn Boesling
