FULL OBITUARY:       Word has been received on the death of Sandy Dallas Cranford, 64, Snyder. Sandy died Thursday in a Lawton hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Snyder. She was born July 15, 1947 in Defiance, Ohio to Donald Francis and Norma Jean (Hall) Kroeckel. She grew up in Defiance and graduated from Defiance High School. She worked for sometime in Carrolton, Texas at the Ford Motor Company Parts Warehouse, before taking and early medical retirement.

She settled in Snyder, and was very active as a volunteer with the American Diabetes Association, where she was a participant in the Diabetes Walk every year. She was instrumental in raising funds for a handicap accessible ramp for those with disabilities and senior citizens to have access to the Snyder swimming pool. Although the funds were raised, the ramp was not due to be put to use until this next year. Sandy will be dearly missed by her family, friends and the entire Snyder Community.

Survivors include her 3 brothers, David Lee Kroeckel and wife Sandra of Defiance, OH, Danny Kroeckel of Snyder, OK and Roger Francis Kroeckel and wife Sharon also of Defiance, OH. Numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

SNYDER, Okla. -- Sandra Kroeckel Cranford, 64, formerly of Defiance, passed away on October 6, 2011, at Lawton Memorial Hospital, Lawton, Okla.

Sandra was born July 15, 1947, in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of Donald and Norma Jean (Hall) Kroeckel. She retired from Ford Motor Co. in Carrolton, Texas.

Sandra was very passionate about her work with the American Diabetes Association. She also was solely responsible for organizing funding to make their town pool handicap accessible which was to be completed for next summer and will be named in her honor.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Cathy Ann Rutherford.

Sandra is survived by three brothers, Danny of Snyder, Okla., David (Sandra) Kroeckel and Roger (Sharon) Kroeckel, both of Defiance; three half brothers, Don Kroeckel of Missouri, Joe Kroeckel of Holgate, Ohio, and Kim Kroeckel of Wauseon. Sandy will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

A memorial service for Sandy will be held at Defiance Church of the Brethren at 313 Washington Ave., Defiance, Ohio, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 5.
