Dr. James Weisgerber, DDS, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at the age of 67.

He was born on June 24, 1947. He graduated high school from Gilmour Academy in Cleveland, Ohio, and attended Marquette University for Undergraduate and Dental School. Upon graduation he served as a dentist with the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He began his dental practice in Defiance in 1972, which he continued until his retirement.

Jim was a member of Defiance Elks, Defiance VFW Post 3360, Ohio Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, trapshooting, creating stained glass, Texas Hold 'em and Yahtzee.

Jim is survived by his wife, Deb Weisgerber of Defiance? daughter, Lisa (David) Hoyt of Charlevoix, Michigan? son, Andrew (Kelly) Weisgerber of Defiance? brothers, Mike (Hilary) Weisgerber of Agawam, Massachusetts, and Jack (Mary) Weisgerber of Defiance. He has three grandchildren, Lily, Benjamin and Annalee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Marion Weisgerber? and sister, Ann Weisgerber.

Visitation will be held from 10­11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens in Defiance.
