Our sympathy is extended to the family of Frederick R. Batt, age 73 of Defiance, who passed away early Sunday morning, April 24, 2022, at Mercy Hospital of Defiance.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 2-8 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson /Roessner Chapel, 1753 S. Clinton Street, Defiance. A Mass of Chistian burial will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church with Father John Stites officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery with graveside military honors conducted by VFW Post 3360 Fred was born on April 25, 1948 to Alphonse and Helen (Justinger) Batt in Defiance, Ohio. Fred proudly served our country in the U.S. Army Military Police from January 4, 1967 - September 7, 1968 during the Vietnam War.
