David Ward

Joined the military in March 1980 and travelled the world a few times. Landed back in Florida a couple of times. Retired from the Air Force in 2003 and retired from FedEx after 23 years. Moved back to Savannah, Georgia with my wife Melissa. Current work with Aerotek, a Recruiting and Staffing form. Hopefully, this is it!

Coach Baldwin caught me with a six pack of Coors Beer in the back parking lot. (Remember, at that time Coors was not sold east of the Mississippi, but Tod Whorl had the connection!) Coach only confiscated my beer? I guess he liked it, but the next day in Gym class he hollered "Ward get over here!" I responded quickly only to arrive with the coach's outstretched hand holding a pack of Red Man chew. Coach Baldwin said "if you're man enough for Coors Beer, you're man enough for Red Man". He made me take a dip and hold it in my mouth, telling me "don't swallow it" after a few minutes he let me spit it out! I learned my lesson; never get caught by Coach Baldwin! How fun were all those Coaches? Steve Hardin, Reggie Dobard, Ed Harris, Hinson and Baldwin! They were awesome in my eyes.
