This is my little buddy "Gater". I got him when he was ten weeks old and he is now almost eight years old.
He's is super laid back and mellow. Gater is an indoor/outdoor cat that loves to bring me little furry gifts. Of course I give him a pat on his head everytime to let him know that I appreciate his gifts. Those of you that have cats know just what I'm talking about.

Here's Gater contemplating his next endeavor.
A little history on his name:
When I first got him I didn't have a clue as to what to name him. Based on his penchant (when he was little and even now) to latch onto my arm/wrist with his claws and teeth while we play wrestled, I eventually came up with a perfect and unique name.
It was all based on three things:
1) 98.7 WGTR "The Gater" Classic Rock station up in the Ft. Pierce area
2) The Molly Hatchett song "Gator Country"
3) The Florida Gators
I guess my Florida roots will never entirely leave me.

Here I am putting on my battle gear. Notice the dampness on the trailer deck. It was an indication of what turned into a NC red clay mudfest. (5/2009)

I'm all smiles now, but that would soon change. By the time I got out of there, I was covered from head to toe with mud along with about twenty pounds of it stuck to the bike. One good thing came out of it, my bike and I came out of it relatively unscathed. I'll try my luck again on June 14 right down the road from my house. (5/2009)

Jean Fletcher and I at the Saturday night festivities. Believe it or not, she somehow got my butt out on the dance floor. (8/2009)
