In June 1998, I managed to get an AA degree from PBJC. I was even an Honors Student there and got to wear the special honors sash that they let you wear when you walk down to get the diploma.

In Dec 2004, I managed to get my BS - Land Surveying Sciences from East Tennessee State University (Johnson City, TN). The effort that this took made me wish that I hadn't spent so much time in the North parking lot and more time in class.

Those two trips down the graduation aisle took a lot of the pain out of not being able to walk down and get my diploma in high school. True, it was my own fault that I ended up 1/2 credit short in English. I cannot blame anyone but myself for that. I was told, at a much later date, that I could have walked, but I didn't feel that I deserved to do it without everything being complete and official. Oh Well! Live and Learn!

In my spare time, I help a motocross racing promoter called Victory Sports Racing put on motocross racing events in TN, NC, and SC. (www.victory-sports.com)

I've also started to race some amateur hare scrambles and enduros up here in SC. It's great having lots of woody areas up here to ride in. There's nothing like bouncing off of trees to keep one young at heart. I've got to get my danger fix somewhere. I know that we grow old, but I plan on kicking and screaming against it the entire way.

I miss being near the ocean, but I don't miss all the crowds.

1) The day that it snowed back in 1977, in Drivers Ed w/ Coach Hinson (I think) threatening me and a bunch of other students that if we didn't settle down that he would put us out in the cold. Of course we didn't and he threw us out of class. It was worth it.

2) The day that a bunch of people (myself included) at an away playoff game came back and discovered that their tires had been slashed. That really sucked.

3) Me and some of my partners in crime (David & Arthur-thanks for giving me a memory that will last a lifetime) driving my old blue Chevy Biscayne down the halls at school after "Grad Night." Obviously, some/all of us were in an altered state of mind. It was really quite comical and very stupid, but we got away with it.
