I have been raising two children, Gabrielle and Taylor. Gabrielle is now married and going to college. Gabrielle's husband is now in Iraq, so she is living with me. He is supposed to come home for leave sometime in December. We can't wait to see him again. She really misses him. They were married only a month when they shipped him out. But, we are proud of him for serving his country. Taylor is a Junior in high school and has informed me that concerning college, she wants to keep her options open. I thought she could go to South Plains College in Levelland for a year or two and then transfer to A&M, but she has other ideas. She wants to be a vet. I am still a sports mom. Going to games to cheer Taylor on in volleyball and softball is the best experience.
Taylor made varsity volleyball this year. I was so proud of her. She has worked really hard. They went to Abilene working their way to state. Unfortunately, they were defeated by Peester (hope I spelled it correctly). If they had won, they would have gone to San Marcos. The girls were crushed, but they will bounce back. They did awesome this year. Glad Taylor was a part of it.
This year has been a hard year for me. I divorced my husband after 17 years of marriage. If it was not for my girls, I would not have recovered as quickly.
