Donna Noonan Burr died on Sunday, December 30, 2018, from a heart attach. Her services will be on Friday, January, 3, 2019, at Voss More Cemetery, in Omaha, Nebraska.
I was very saddened when Donna's daughter, Heather, sent me an e-mail earlier this week to let me know of her sudden passing.
When Jeff and Heather were building their new home in Omaha, they added a wing to their house for Donna to live with them. It was a wonderful arrangement because Donna was able to help care for little William. It really helped Donna pass the time after her husband passed away in January 2015. They had been married 41 years.
Heather shared an adorable story about William who is just four. William keeps asking, "can we go to Walmart and get another Grandma!"
Heavenly Father, please wrap your strong arms around Donna's daughter, Heather (Jeff Seaman), Son, Greg Burr, Grandchildren William Seaman and Madden Burr. Please give them the strength and understanding to deal with their mother's/ grandmother's sudden death. I will be keeping Donna's family in my thoughts and prayers during this dificult time!
I have very fond memories of Donna. The first was when we got together to practic and try out for the Cheerleading team. Neither one of us made it!:( We continued to do things together throuhout our high school days. Another memory is when she and Ralph Turano. joined Blain Turner and I on a double date to Prom and Pep Club formal dances! I believe it was our junior year!:) We lost track of each other over the years; but reconnected at our 30th Class Reunion. When I found out that she was living in Omaha, I tried to get her to ride out to Colorado for our 50th Class Reunion with me. However, her husband, Douglas, had passed away earlier that year and she just wasn't up to it. At the time she was also dealing with some health issues. We had made plans to go to the next class reunion; but, now that won't be possible. Donna will be joining our other classmates and look down on us at the next reunion when ever that might be!
I will truly miss talking to Donna as well as writing notes back and forth. RIP my dear friend.
Deeply saddened.Donna was a close friend in hiigh school. Kind and always smiling. She helped center and calm me after my Vietnam tours. Although we haven't seen each in years an ocassional letter was heart warming. She will be missed.
