This is, indeed, sad news.  Jim was always the outgoing guy who lifted my spirits when algebra class got too tough.  I will miss visiting with him at our 50th reunion....but DO plan to see him again "on the other side."

I cann't tell you how much I will miss him.  He was a true confidant, best bud, and partner in crime in both the good times and the bad. The world is a better place just because he was in it.

I remember Jim being open to everyone, and prom after party at his home. His parents were wonderful. Jim IS a generous soul. He will be missed at the reunion.

To those who knew Jim well, coincidentally I had dinner with Jim in Denver a few months before he died.  He seemed so very wistful; I think he had a premonition about what was around the corner.  Though he had spent considerable time in DC, our paths did not cross.  We spoke of so many of you with affection, and reminisced about Msgr. Canavan in particular, and his last months of terrible health struggles.  Jim was a genius and a giant in many ways.  He did seem sad and thoughtful, and I did not realize the gravity of his situation.   If you all get a chance, particularly those of you not in Colorado anymore, his obituaries and eulogies give a better insight into his life and contributions.  Sheila
