Wow! What a great weekend! It was great seeing so many people and I certainly missed those who were unable to make it. Bill, you were missed. Our condolences to you and your wife.

Thank you to Cheryl, John, Maureen and all the other helpers for making the weekend so enjoyable. It was wonderful to go back down that "long and winding road"! The pics are great! We'll get ours on ASAP. Now it's back to reality, but the memories are great! This is a wonderful way to keep in touch!

Ditto, Ditto, Ditto. It was a wonderful night, thanks to everyone who was instrumental in making it happen. Agreed, it went much to fast. Wish I could have hung at the football game....it looks like it was a great time too.

Have a wonderful evening and as Tom said, let's not wait 20 years to do it again.

What a terrific weekend and evening. With many thanks to Cheryl, John, Maureen, and everyone who had a hand in what is sure to be an enduring reunion.

As I wrote in a note to a few people earlier today, I think we're all lucky to have experienced first hand, now more than once in our lives, just how fun it was to be part of the class of '78. I am so very glad for the quality friendships I made back then and re-discovered in recent weeks - lifelong friendships to such talented men and women, who seemed a long time ago like just a bunch of ordinary funny kids, boy was I mistaken.

More than a reunion, this was truly a gift.

Rich

Ditto to what Rich Hettinger said! The friendships I was able to rekindle this weekend were the greatest gift of all~ Thanks so much to Cheryl, John and Maryann and everyone else who was instrumental in making this reunion weekend so incredibly special.

To all of the St. Peter's gang, please please please post your pictures since my camera was not working properly! My brother was asking about alot of you and wants to see pictures!

And there were so many people I didn't get to talk to for one reason or another, John O, AnneMarie, Nancy Rodimer, Michael Harding, etc...just don't know where the evening went and hope we can still catch up online!

We are truly blessed to have had such a wonderful event to mark our 30 year anniversary. Thanks again to everyone who made it happen!

Are we going to Hawaii next year??? :}

To all my fans (you know who you are but I don’t),

Thank you, thank you, and thank you for the beautiful flowers that were delivered to my house today. They were not necessary but truly appreciated. It genuinely was my pleasure to be involved with the planning of our 30 year reunion. I sincerely believe that everyone had a wonderful time; I only wish that I had had the chance to speak with you all individually and had snapped more photos. Hopefully with this website we will continue to stay connected. I hope that Weggie has already found the venue for our 35th year reunion.

My love to you all and thank you again,
Maureen

Will be posting more pictures later; must return to work in a little while for a night meeting.

Thanks and thanks again to everyone for a great time. My wife was really impressed how cool my classmates are (and so am I). It couldnt have gone better. Way worth the trip.

The venue is a white sand beach with a big blue wet thing in front of it! All invited (dress code very casual)

Count me in! 5 years to lose another 20 pounds (face lift, tummy tuck, butt lift, implants)? No problem! lol!

Thanks, again, to Cheryl, John and Maureen (and everyone else) who took what must have amounted to a great deal of time to orchestrate such a great event. It was great to be able to step back in time.

Seeing two former teachers and being able to attend a celebration of the Holy Eucharist at which the presider was Father Davis was particularly moving.

Considering how well the class of '78 has turned out, I'm certain that the late Sister Georgine was looking down upon us, quite pleased, from a window in paradise.

It was great seeing everyone. To those I didn't get round to speaking to, forgive me. Additionally, let me pose to everyone else a question I posed to Cheryl: Does anybody remember Ted Craig? Cheryl and several others couldn't remember him.

Liz Kopf (Mazur)

HOLY COW! I remember Ted Craig! Why on earth is that? I can picture him. Maybe he went to St. Pius X as well?

Liz,

Thank you. I was beginning to think he might have been a figment of my imagination.

He was quite the comedian. I remember thinking that Mrs. Benson, the geometry teacher, was something like a "straight man" in Ted's comedy routine.

I know this sounds like a broken record, but what a night it was! God bless all of you, Cheryl, John, Maureen and everyone that made all of us feel soo special on our 30th year!! Wasn't long enough to see, catch up or even visit with everyone. I sure hope Cheryl is relaxing somewhere with her feet up having a refreshing drink...you deserve it!

I also want to thank everyone who contributed food, money, wrote a letter, said a prayer to our troops over seas. My heart goes out to each and everyone of you. I am soo thankful for your thoughtfulness and kind words to me about my sons. It means soo much to me!! I love each and everyone of you. Thanks for your friendship and your caring ways. You all are the best, the Class of 78!

I remember Ted Craig, but it is kind of fuzzy. I can see his face in Freshman English perhaps. Does anyone remember Tim Lafferty? Anyone in that Eng class Freshman year (Ms. Romano) when some guys???? hung Tim out the second story window by his feet? I am quite certain that my vocabulary still reflects the lack of learning that went on in that class. Ms. Romano was very nice....but no match for Tim and his crew...whoever they were. (Kelleher? Bain? these faces come to mind).
If we get together more often, we don't have to spend soooo much time catching up, so can spend more time laughing over old stories and new ones.

At the risk of being redundant...it was a wonderful time and I wish I could have spent more of the weekend with you all. Everyone looks awesome and it was a room full of smiling faces...that says something!

Have a great day.
Marlene

Marlene,

I remember Tim Lafferty (went to grammar school with him at St. Christopher's as well as quite a few others.) I think Lauby told me that he was only at MCHS for Freshman year, but I could be wrong; and I'm sure his side kick was George Bain.

It was great to see you on Saturday, and unfortunately we really did not get that much time to chat. We will have to continue through the website. It was also a pleasure meeting your husband. Stay well.

Love, Maureen

Marlene,

I don't recall Tim. Thank you for Stopping to see me at the Bar Saturday night. I wish we had more time to catch up. Love the pictures

Reccomended Reading for All: LONE SURVIVOR by Marcus Luttrel, Tough guy book about a Navy Seal Had me crying in the end. Also explains from the Seals point of View as wellas I would guess Sean's and Joannes Boys point of view as to why they serve.

A bit of a change of pace. A few of us were trying to recall the songs on the MCHS cafeteria jukebox. Some that were mentioned are listed below (I have put them in order of most frequently played--as best as I can recall):

- Walk This Way - Aerosmith
- Rock 'N' Me - Steve Miller Band
- Squeeze Box -- The Who
- Ballroom Blitz - Sweet (?)
- Rock and Roll Part II - Gary Glitter
- She's Gone - Hall and Oates (I think that was in there)

Anyone else have any memories of this?

Thomas R. Thomas

John - re the jukebox. Some other songs I used to play when I got there at 7:00 (anyone remember that senior year I hitched rides to school with Mr. Neumann?):

Changes in Latitudes - Jimmy Buffett
Joker - Steve Miller Band

Wow! What a night the reunion was. It was a magical, ethereal evening that went by in a blur. There are so many friends that I feel like I didn't get to see so I think we should do this more often!!! It was so, so wonderful to see all of you - and very bittersweet to think so many years have past. Seeing everyone brought all the memories back in a split second. We spent some of the best and most exciting years of our lives together. Let's not forget how special those moments were; we were so close and meant so much to each other. I want to thank Cheryl, John, Maureen, and all those responsible for making it such a wonderful, unforgettable evening. And the goodie bags rocked!
I just posted my pictures.

To the jukebox heroes:

I remember: Late December '63 (Oh What a Night) by Frankie Valli
and an obscure song "We Gotta Get Right Back to Where We Started From" (I'm not sure that's the exact title) by Maxine Nightengale.
and "Grease is the Word" again by Frankie Valli

Didn't we have any Allman Brothers or Dead??? The jukebox was probably censored!
I do remember lots of Aerosmith - and Vicki Pryzborowski dancing to "Walk this Way"
oh and we must have had Queen, too, probably "Bohemian Rhapsody"
and what aboout Boston's "More than a Feeling"?

Love to all of you, my friends,
Marianne

John,
I think I am spending too much time on this site, guess I'm trying to extend the weekend a bit.

Re: Jukebox
The two songs that come to mind are:
BTO's "You ain't see nothin yet"
and "When will I see you again" don't remember the artist. I can picture a boy from the Junior class when we were freshman standing next to the jukebox what seemed like everytime I walked into the cafe' and BTO was always playing. (I also wondered how I could get his schedule and just hang out in the cafe' listening to music)

Tom,
It was great to see you too. I didn't do a very good job of working the room. We have to get together again.

Had a mini-mini reunion 2nite w/ Carol Vallone,Elmer Dante,Lucille Favale...oh AND Hailey Shae (Carol's Daughter),the soon to be 6 year old(10/30) that has the personality of a sophisticated teen!!!

Small,but intimate affair...it was great!
Count me in for the next get-together...can't miss it from what I've heard!

Cheers To All....KGB

Chicago (Saturday in the Park) and Springsteen (Born to Run) had to be on the jukebox! And what about Rambling Man - who sang that? I have a picture of that jukebox with Diana Robertson and I standing in front of it; didn't notice during the school tour if they still have one. Does anyone know?

Its raining here in GA, horray!

Hey guys:

It was truly a great weekend - better than I expected and a lot of laughs all around. I do remember Tim Lafferty - do you not remember that freshman year he single-handedly sold kazoos for $.50 to all that would purchase - and too many of us did - and brought down the wrath of the administration (I believe it was Mr. Neumann and Mr. Donahue) and shut his 'operation' down. He moved to CT after freshman year. It was really great to catch up with all.

10/08/08 04:30 PM #907

Marianne Scerbo (Longchamp)

Hi Debbie, You live in Georgia, the Peach State, and don't know who sang "Ramblin' Man"???? Shame on you; it was the Allman Bros. Band from Macon, GA. I'm afraid you have to move back to NJ now! :)

About Ted Craig:
I worked with him for many years at the Exchange. He was just as crazy as ever, and we always had a blast at work.

And I can't believe I'm hanging out on this website when I should be grading papers! I miss you all already!
xoxo

Sorry to tell you guys but the jukebox is gone. After trying to figure out the playlist during dinner it was one of the first things I looked for.
