I lived in Lawrence, Kansas for about 16 years, married a Professor of Botany and earned a Master's degree in Environmental Sciences. We moved to Athens, GA in 1986 and I worked for the EPA for a few years and then went back to school at UGA to obtain a Master's degree in art. About 10 years ago I changed partners and now live with an independent artist who makes jewelry/metalwork. I do marketing, bookkeeping, publicity and whatever else is required in the daily life of a one-person business. He owns the house next door, which is his studio, and I own the house that I am remodeling. I am working on the painting and woodwork in this small but really neat, uncompleted house with lots of windows and high ceilings. It doesn't have a kitchen yet, but I can make coffee on a hotplate. I always wanted to be a carpenter and woodworker. My favorite place to be is out of doors, so when possible I work in the garden. I have a cat named Sam and a dog that I take care of and love during the day while her owner is at work. For more than 25 years I was a runner and now I ride a bicycle for exercise, outdoors, of course.
