Reunion Details

August 6, 2010

Dear Fellow Former Classmates,

It has become abundantly clear that very few of us will be gathering next weekend to bask in the memories of our time together at the former COMS.  However, die-hards that we are, we are still making plans to get together for dinner (separate checks) on Friday evening, though we are changing the venue.

We will now be meeting at 7pm at Centro Restaurant (walking distance from the hotel) at 1011 Locust St., Des Moines.  Significant others of course, are welcome--even those of you who don't plan to attend anything else during the weekend---but please email me (lwwaite@wisc.edu) or call me (608.397.6678)  if you plan to come so we can adjust our reservation numbers.

Perhaps we'll plan for our next reunion to take place in the Bahamas?

Osteopathically yours,

Larry Waite

April 2010

By now, most if not all of us have received a gracious invitation from DMU in a "Passport" format.  Contained in this mailing is a rough outline of the weekend, suggested hotel at a pretty decent block-rate, food, and entertainment.  Clearly, there's a new administration in charge of things at 3200 Grand since we graced the classrooms.

NOTE:  Advanced payment is required, at $75 per person for the weekend, including Friday reception, Saturday 5k walk/run (breakfast & treatments for participants!), open house, tour, dinner, & Sunday brunch--it's not at all a bad deal.

ALL REGISTRATIONS AND PAYMENTS ARE BEING HANDLED THROUGH THE UNIVERSITY either via the registration card you received in the mail, or online at www.dmu.edu/alumni/events/reunion

The DMU website has all the information you need and more, so be sure to check out all it has to offer.

There appears to be optional CME sessions on Friday, Aug 13;  for more information on that, visit www.dmu.edu/alumni

Sunday will be DMU Day at the Iowa State Fair.  Advanced tickets are available for $7/adults, $3/kids, or you can always get them at the door for $10 & $4 respectively.

ALL OF THAT SAID, they have happily allowed time for class gatherings on Friday evening as well as during the reception/dinner on Saturday.  Since Saturday's events will be encumbered by members from 5-yr incremental classes from 1960-2005, the Class of 1975 will have an informal gathering on Friday--WATCH THIS SPACE for details on that, to be posted soon.

So, believe it or not, many of us have matured in ways none of us thought possible, and we're looking forward to meeting you all again for the first time.  We hope to see you this summer.
