Lieutenant Colonel, USAF Passed away on Sunday, April 12th, 2009, at Mease Countryside Hospital. John was a resident of Palm Harbor, and prior resident of Centerville, OH. John dedicated his life to service in the United States Air Force. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel and participated in several military conflicts, including the Vietnam War and Gulf War. During his long career in the military, he was bestowed with a variety of metals and received numerous honors. He had a steadfast dedication to his country and his family. He grew up in Des Moines, IA where he attended Dowling High School. John's advanced degrees include a B.S. in Business Administration from Drake University and an MBA from the University of Alabama. John is survived by his two sons Robert Michael and John William. Services will be held starting with a 12:30 pm gathering on Wednesday, April 15th at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens, 1750 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor, followed by mass at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 2281 State Rd. 580 Clearwater, FL 33763 and a committal service in the veterans section at Curlew Hills Cemetery.
