Virginia Torres Costa, was born in West Des Moines and lost her two year battle with cancer on Saturday, February 6, 2010.
A Memorial Service will be held at McLaren's Chapel on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 1 p.m.
She became a resident of Los Angeles after her 1959 graduation from St. JosephAcademy. Virginia worked as a regional representative for the National Endowment for the Arts but left to work with her husband in their art business, Costa Studios. She enjoyed writing and working as an artist.
She is survived by her husband Sam of Los Angeles, her son David Kushner (Christine) and her grandson Waylon of Studio City, CA, her mother Connie Torres Haniel, sister Elaine Torres Singleton (Hank) and nephew Lance Singleton all of Des Moines.
