Julia E. Gerlach, 68, died suddenly Thursday, July 15, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 19, 2010 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee. Burial will take place at GlendaleCemetery.
Julie was born September 7, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the youngest of four sisters. Julie graduated from St. JosephAcademy in 1959. She married James "Jim" Gerlach on July 17, 1970. Julie loved her family, friends and NASCAR. A wonderful, generous woman, she loved nothing more than to share a good laugh with her friends and loved ones.
Julie is survived by her husband, Jim; daughter, Allison; son, Paul (Amy); grandsons, Nicholas and Joseph; sisters, Dee Ross and Therese DeRegnier; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and many good friends. She will be sorely and forever missed.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday at St. Boniface Catholic Church with a vigil service at 5 p.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Holy Family School Foundation.
