John B. Hayes

West Des Moines - John B. Hayes, a lifetime resident of the Des Moines area, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018. John dedicated 39 years of his life to the Dowling Catholic community, serving as teacher, coach, and athletic director; until his retirement in 2005. Everyone who knew John appreciated his sense of humor, compassion and conversational ability. John will be remembered for his love of sports and his commitment to his family.

John is survived by his wife, Cheryl; sister, Lucretia; two daughters, Aundrea and Michelle; his son, Brent; and five grandchildren.

Iles Dunn's Chapel will host a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, February 12 and a funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 13. Contributions may be directed to the family for a future memorial.
