SANDRA KEARNEY

Sandra Kearney, 68, left her loving family and a multitude of friends on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston following a courageous and graceful battle against lung cancer, lasting almost three years. She was born on July 13, 1941 to Thaddeus and Cecelia Critchfield in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

She loved watching her grandchildren play sports and enjoyed reading, square dancing, and dining with friends. Sandra retired as an investigator for the Consumer Protection Division of the Iowa Attorney Generals Office.

Sandra is survived by her husband of 48 years, William; her son, Patrick (Peggy) Kearney; grandchildren, Nathan and Drew Kearney; sisters, Cleo Dawson and Sue (Dave) Thompson; her mother, Cecelia Critchfield; long time family friend Dean Dawson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thaddeus Critchfield.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., November 30, 2009 at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Ave., Des Moines. Burial will follow at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes. A visitation with the family present will be from 4:00-6:30 p.m., with a 6:30 p.m. vigil service on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family for a memorial to be determined later in loving memory of Sandra.
