Donald "Blinky" McLaughlin, 68, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House.
A Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.Monday, December 28, 2009, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Burial with military honors will take place at the Iowa Veteran's Cemetery at a later date.
Don was born June 22, 1941 in Des Moines to Lucy and James McLaughlin. Don proudly served his country in the US Navy. He worked at Meredith Burda and later at RR Donnelly as a printer/pressman. Don loved spending time with his dog, Skip and his family. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. He enjoyed playing golf before his illness.
Don is survived by his wife, Mae; his brother, Robert; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jim.
