     William O. "Bill" Murphy Des Moines Bill Murphy, 72, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at home. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, February 23, at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial of the cremated remains will follow at Glendale Cemetery. Bill was born in Des Moines and graduated from Dowling High School in 1959. He served as an air policeman for the Iowa Air National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1969. Bill was a member of the IBEW Local 347 and The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick Central Iowa Chapter. He loved life and will be sorely missed.

     Bill is survived by nephews, Pat (Joyce) Murphy of Madrid, and Brian (Charlene) Murphy and their daughters, Samantha, Miranda and Jessica of Oxford, MI; niece, Susan (Dan) De Michele of Chicago, IL; and sister-in-law, Nancy Murray of LeClaire, Iowa.
