Dennis Mullin

Robert (Denny) Mullin, 66, died Friday, February 1, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

 

The celebration of Denny's life will be at Hamilton's on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, on Saturday, February 9, 2008. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with a reception following.

 

Denny was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 13, 1941, to Bob and Madge (Springer) Mullin. He lived in Iowa most of his life. Dedicated in his roles as minister and psychotherapist, Denny served a great many people. His most recent ministering was at Fort Des Moines Presbyterian Church. Denny was passionate about life, contemporary justice issues, the peace movement and scripture study groups.

 

Denny cherished his family and friends. Through his many years of health challenges, he appreciated all those who took him to appointments, shared stories, meals and spirituality with him.

 

Survivors include his wife, Felicia; daughter, Michaela Mullin (William Eike) of Des Moines; sister, Kathleen Mullin, BVM, of Rock Island, IL; brother, Michael of New York City; and extended family. Denny was preceded in death by his parents and infant twin brother, John.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Iowa; Citizens for Community Improvement (CCI), Des Moines; or Ft. Des Moines Presbyterian Church.
