LYNNE MARIE CONWAY ILLES

Des Moines

Family and friends deeply mourn the passing of Lynne Marie Conway Illes, who died April 9, 2006 at home, peacefully in her sleep.

Born to Norman Vincent, Sr. and Charlotte Yeteve Conway, Lynne was a Des Moines native who lived in New Orleans for the past 24 years. Lynne dedicated her life to helping and providing for those around her. She spent her time, in Des Moines as a graduate Registered Nurse and served as the Executive Director of the Iowa Board of Nursing for 15 years until her relocation to New Orleans. She was the youngest Executive Director to that point, and continually strove to better both nursing procedure and patient care.

Lynne continued her spirit of generosity in New Orleans through philanthropy and the arts. She volunteered continually for the Contemporary Arts Center, the New Orleans Symphony and WYES New Orleans. She acted as a past Chairman of the New Orleans Museum of Art's Odyssey Ball, as well as past Chairman of the Contemporary Arts Center's Sweet Arts Ball. She was also an active member of the Junior League of New Orleans.

Undoubtedly the greatest benefactors of Lynne's kindness were the members of her immediate and extended family, late brother, Norman, Jr. and Phyllis Conway; brother, Meredith and Patti Conway; husband, Adrian A. Illes, Sr; four children, Leslie, Brandee, Adrian A., Jr. and Derek, as well as eight loving grandchildren. Lynne was beloved for her spirit - her love, warmth, humor and intellect will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2006, at McLaren's Chapel - 801 19th Street - West Des Moines. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday, at McLaren's. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Lung Association of Iowa.
