Retired Major Robert John Alwell, 75, of Cleburne passed away on July 11, 2020. He will be interred at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, DALLAS, TX . Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 807 N. Anglin, Cleburne, TX on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 9:30 AM. Visitation and Rosary are on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 AM. at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home, 512 North Ridgeway Dr, Cleburne, TX.

Robert Alwell was born on February 3, 1945 in San Mateo, California to Kenneth and Jeanne Alwell. Robert married Susan Marie Brown on June 11, 1966 in Tucson, Arizona. He served as a Major in the U.S. Air Force, with a 23-year decorated career spanning the globe. Robert also worked as a Systems Information Specialist for both General Dynamics and First Command. He was a leader in his church, serving in his local chapter of “Knights of Columbus” as Grand Knight. Robert was a skilled woodworker and craftsman, sharing his talents with so many.

Dedicated Father and Friend to many, Robert is survived by his loving wife Susan Alwell; daughter, Michelle and husband Ken Cominsky; daughter Aimee and husband Dave Edmiston; son, Aaron Alwell and wife Jennifer; daughter, Kristen and husband Brian Eilerts; beloved niece Katy and husband Daniel Grinnan; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Patrick, Lauren, Emily, Bethany, Isaac, Sydney, Erynn, Hannah, Ella, Robert II, Benjamin, Logan and Evangeline; great-grandchildren, Alice, Kellin and Karsen; and by three brothers and three sisters.
