Kathy was born September 21, 1945, to Connor and Dorothy (Corcoran) Flynn in Des Moines. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy in Des Moines and attended Ottumwa Heights College for a brief period. In 1969 she began what became a remarkable 40 year career at the Iowa Veterans Home for which she was recently recognized by Iowa Governor Chet Culver. She was a regular member of the Secular Franciscan Order and St. Mary's Church where she sang in the choir. She was a very active member, volunteer and contributor to St. Mary's, the IVH and the Marshalltown community.

Kathy was an avid reader, a devout Catholic, a mean card player, a fun-loving jokester and a warm friend to everyone she met. She never forgot a name or birthday and always stepped up to donate or volunteer her time, treasures and talent even to a fault. And her greatest reward was the wonderful friends and relationships she discovered along the way.

Kathy will be missed by two brothers, Connor (Pam) Flynn of Des Moines, Patrick (Mickey) Flynn of Evansville, Ind., one sister; Peggy (Paul) DeGance of Roswell, Ga., and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband and soul mate Paul R. Jensen, parents; Connor and Dorothy Flynn of Des Moines and a sister; Molly (Joe) Cade of Prior Lake, Minn.

Her family would like to extend a very special thank you for the tremendous care given by her friends at Iowa River Hospice, St. Mary's and to the many who called, visited, prayed and remembered Kathy during her time of need.
