Lorena J. Giammona, 68, passed away on March 14, 2014. She was born on November 2, 1945 to the late Orena and Charles Alvis in Clay City, Kansas.
She is survived by her loving husband Paul R. Giammona; daughters, Rachael Harlow and her husband Bo, and Paula Pate and her husband Roy Williams; grandchildren Brittany Hatten, Cody Harlow, Taryn Harlow, Sara Williams and Austin Pate; and brother Ricky Alvis and his wife Brenda and their children Susan and Elaine.
The family will receive guests from 4 to 6 pm followed by a 6 pm service on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.

A few days before Lorena's passing, one of her daughter's wrote on Lorena's Facebook page, "My mother is coming to the end of her war with pulmonary hypertension. She has fought long and hard and won many battles, but she has decided that she has had enough. May she go in peace and comfort and know no more pain. I love you mommy!"
The day Lorena passed, her 2 daughters wrote the following on their mom's Facebook page: Paula said, "God called Rena Giammona home today. She passed in peace and without pain. Services will be held at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. Viewing will be from 4 to 6 pm followed by a 6pm service." ---- And Rachael said, "Today God called a beautiful angel home. A friend to everyone she ever met, a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. We're not sure how to go on without you but you are finally at peace and without pain. We love you mom and miss you incredibly already. RIP sweet angel."
