BORN:  January 18, 1945

DIED:  April 26, 2012

LOCATION:  Des Moines, IA

Born in Oakland, CA on January 18, 1945, Janice ended her celebration of life on April 26, 2012 at the age of 67.  She lived life with happiness, optimism and a hearty laugh always ready when the opportunity presented.

She was adored by her family, Iris (Jim) Gorsche, Mike (Suzanne) Peterson, Sue Peterson, Sheila Peterson, Charles (Cyndi) Peterson, David (Gayle) Venne, and Olivia Venne.   She had twelve nieces and nephews and eighteen great-nieces and nephews.  Her sense of family was vastly extended by her close group of friends, too numerous to mention.  She took great pleasure in caring for her two co-pets, Shadow and Lucky.

She was a dedicated, lifelong employee at Lutheran hospital where over the years her co-workers added another dimension of friendship and family to her life.

Join us for a celebration of her life on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Walnut Woods Lodge, 3155 Walnut Woods Drive, West Des Moines, IA 50265.   Friends and family will gather at 3 p.m., with a memorial service at 3:30 p.m., and reception to follow the memorial service.  Arrangements are being handled by Iles Funeral Home, Grandview Park Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to host a meal at Central Iowa Shelter in Janice's honor. Checks can be made payable to Sheila Peterson.

Janice was such a kind and sweet person. She and I had several classes together. I don't think I ever heard her say one bad word against anyone. It's so sad when one of your classmates passes on but I guess her spirit was ready to go "home." God bless her family members. I know she will be missed......

Sincerely,

Mary Lamberti DouBrava
