Mary “Susan” Neswold Leutzinger, 80, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Kavanaugh House in Des Moines, IA. A visitation will be Monday, September 23, 2024 from 5PM - 7PM at Iles Westover Chapel. A vigil service will begin at 7 PM to conclude the visitation. The funeral service will be Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at St. Pius X Catholic Church beginning at 10 AM with interment to follow at Glendale Cemetery. The family would like to invite friends and family to join them back at St. Pius X following the interment for a meal. 

Mary Susan was born on September 10, 1944 in Des Moines to Stewart and Bonita (Lose) Neswold. Mary Susan graduated high school from St. Joseph Academy in Des Moines. She retired from Farm Bureau Financial Group and was a long time member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Urbandale, IA. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, projects around the house and spending time with family and friends, especially being at, or watching any activity involving her three beloved grandsons. 

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of nearly fifty-five years, Richard, of Urbandale; daughter Jennifer (Mike) Kronlage of Johnston; grandsons Ryan, Tyler and Justin Kronlage; brothers Ted (Mary) Neswold of Naperville, IL, Robert (Lynn) Neswold of Windsor Heights, IA and James (Vicki) Neswold of West Branch, IA; sister Jean Larsen; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a special group of ladies she spent Thursdays golfing with. Mary Susan was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Nancy Law, and was greeted in heaven by a host of extended family and friends who had left the earth before her. 

The family is appreciative of the comfort and care offered by the staff at Every Step Hospice and requests that memorials be directed to The Kavanaugh House on 56th in Des Moines or the Urbandale Lions Club.
