Work, school, school, work, then I met my husband. Bill and I married in 1988 and I returned to college a few years later, graduating with a BA in Graphic Design from GrandView.
We had a daughter, Laura, and the three of us spent a lot of time fixing up old houses, including the one we live in now. I worked in the graphic design field for about a decade before selling my first novel, Ghosts in the Snow, to Bantam Dell in 2004. I have seven published novels and currently work part-time as our small town's Library Director (Bill works for the Post Office).
