Andrea was born on November 11, 1945 and passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2003.
Andrea was a resident of Tucson, Arizona.
Information found in the 10 year reunion booklet indicated that Andrea said her favorite job was being clinical supervisor for the first paramedic class in Arizona. She was also an RN and an Emergency Supervisor. At the time she had a 3 1/2 year daughter Tamara Adele and was enjoying a new dating scene after five years. She traveled through Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Missouri, Kansas and Utah. Her hobbies were hiking, looking for and at Indian artifacts, bottle digging and ghost town exploration. She was interested and greatly involved in the improvement of emergency medical care in the hospital and when she was on the ambulance.

Although I lost track of Andrea after Jr High, she was a quiet but interesting and fun person to be around. She had a great sense of humor and we shared many laughs in Home Ec at Olympic.

Andrea passed away November 9, 2003 from kidney failure caused by Hepatitis C. She had been waiting for a transplant for some time. Andrea was like my big sister. Most of the time we spent together was in Walther League at Resurrection Lutheran Church with fellow Classmates Ann Erickson, Phyllis Skau, Randy Sloper, Rich Schlecht, Shirley Wiederski, and Carolyn Eichler. Andrea was a bit older than most of us and had her own car that she would often let us younger kids drive. It was a Renault 4CV, probably the cheeziest car ever made. I remember one outing where someone failed to latch the hood release and the hood popped open on the freeway and slammed against the windshield frame, putting a huge crease in the hood. But the metal was so thin that we were able to pound it back into shape with our fists, almost like new. Andrea and her husband, George "Bud" Welch, then living in Tucson, stayed with us in Seattle back in 1999. She was already pretty sick, but it was still great to see an old friend again.
