After high school I continued to work at the bowling alley for almost a year. After that I did construction, working on interstate bridges all over the state for a year or so, In 1971 I joined the Air Force and was a weapons specialist on F-4s for 4 years serving in several countries in Southeast Asia finally ending up in south Florida.
After the Air Force I went back to school and graduated from Austin Peay with a major in Industrial Technology.
My first job after college was with an automotive seat manufacturer in Cadiz, KY where I work for a year and a half. I then got a job with Jostens Printing where I worked for the next 28 years. I started as an Industrial Engineer and worked though Production Control Manager, Q.C. Manager, Engineering Manager and Plant Services Manager.
I then was a Superintendent for a Texas base construction company that specializes in doing work at colleges and universities. I got my general contracting license in 1994 and had built homes on a part time bases.
I have been married to the same woman (Frances) since 1970 and we have two daughters (Kadena and Alicia) and six grandchildren. Frances works for a defense contractor on Ft. Campbell. Both daughters still live in Clarksville and of course we pretty much live for our grandchildren. We have a small farm (although it is in the city limits) of about thirty four acres where all we have are 2 old horses that no one rides, but it keeps me busy trying to keep it mowed and fenced.
About the only hobby I have is riding my bike ( for the people that remember me from high school this is probably not a surprise). I have moved from sports bikes to a Goldwing. (that's how you know you're getting old)
I retired in February 2016
