Please review the information below, and complete the survey so that we finalize details, and hopefully coordinate a few activities Saturday, during the day, and maybe the same for Sunday morning, as well as advise who have chosen the same options.

Ka Ka has graciously offered her home for a Friday Night Casual Visit and Pool party. There has also been some interest in going to the Oasis, http://www.oasis-austin.com/, instead of, or in addition to Ka Ka's. The Oasis is a wonderful experience; however, on a Friday night it will be crowded, and casual visiting will be limited to those seated close by. We can go as a group if this is what a HUGE majority want, or individuals/small groups can go. Please complete the survey so that we can give KaKa a "head count".

Several of you have asked if there were any plans for Saturday during the day. At present, nothing formal is planned. I asked Ralph and KaKa to give us some options. These are simply options. Our local "Hostess w/ 'da Mostess", KaKa, has offered her home as a place to “hang out” on Saturday. Feel free to come and go as you please, and she will provide sandwiches for lunch.

Brunch:

Ralph recommended the following with emphasis on Chez-Zee: Kirby Lane Café, (http://www.kerbeylanecafe.com), Magnolia Cafe, Cafe Java, Habenaros, and Chez Zee. As noted above, he recommend brunch at Chez Zee (http://www.chez-zee.com/ ).

KaKa, noted that there is a Kirby Lane Café close to her place, it is newer and larger than the original in Central Austin. Please note, “Going out to brunch is the IN THING to do in Austin”; places may be crowded. Chez-Zee would probably be slightly less crowded, but a little more expensive. Finally, she noted there is a local, “Hole in the wall” near her place that has great breakfast burritos. She has offered to pick up some and have them and some coffee available at her home.

Activities (does not include shopping):

Visiting the State Capitol, the Bob Bullock Museum (www.thestoryoftexas.com), the Blanton Museum (www.blantonmuseum.org) (these three are all within walking distance of each other). Austin Museum of Art (www.amoa.org).

There's also the Austin Duck Tours (http://www.austinducks.com/), walking up/down Congress Avenue, Austin Segway Tours which Ralph has never done, but noted it looks like a lot of fun (http://www.glidingrevolution.com/), and of course there is always taking a dip in Barton Springs Pool (http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/parks/bartonsprings.htm).

In addition to the above, KaKa suggested, shopping at the Domain or the Arboretum (both close to her home), the Galleria (across town from KaKa & Hotel) or, the outlets in Round Rock (not too far from Hotel, or KaKa's).
