Greetings everyone from the Northern Virginia contingent. Rodney, beautiful site; my hat is off to you for taking this on and producing a real winner. Sherri looks like you got the ball rolling as far as mentioning my name out to the group; thanks for remembering. Ray thanks for finding me on Linked In and letting me know about the site. I’ve browsed through most of the message forum. First, I’d like to say how happy I am to see so many names that I recognize even after 20 year. Second, some of you have me concerned that your families are about to report you missing considering how much time your on here.
Alton and JJ, I appreciate the compliment but you’ve both managed to get two kids into their teens without anyone maimed or killed. I’ll be asking your advice at the reunion.
I wish I could help with the reunion planning but commuting to the meetings from the DC area (when I’m around) really is not an option. I barely manage to visit my mom down there. Although I have to admit that I have come to appreciate (much more now than when we were in school) the quieter and somewhat more relaxed pace of life when I do visit. Everyone in the Beltway runs around like their hair is on permanent fire. Even thought I was in a hurry to get out when we graduated, I regret that my kids will not have the opportunity to grow up in the environment we did. Not to say ours was an idyllic world or that we did not do our share of really dumb things, but it certainly feels like we had less to worry about as kids and more ‘unstructured’ time to enjoy our childhoods. Sorry I’m waxing nostalgic.
On a more important note, I did manage to find an old photo album with a number of old photos from Rohoic 83’. Where you will see very young Cammie and Kim (you two where like each other’s shadow back then) among others. There are several pictures from a Jr. High trip as well as the Junior Class bus trip to Williamsburg. There are pics from the Washington bus trip and the Senior Picnic that I’ll need to get to another evening.
