I do have to say all of this has been overwhelming for me. Especially this weekend. My husband has been cooking 68 pork butts since yesterday afternoon non-stop. Half of them are ready now and still hot. The other half will be done, hopefully, shortly. If you can get come and get your order early, please call me asap 895-3738. We are running out of room. We are running on fumes ourselves, we only got to sleep last night from 3am to 6am.

I am very tired and no one told us how badly the baby-blues affected the wife. I thought we would have to admit her to Central State there for a bit. Everything is fine with me and the family...thanks again. I will definitely have some pictures up soon.

Oh by the way I remember something post pardum with my wife when she threw the high chair down the hall at me and I had to dive into a bedroom to avoid getting hit.

At least it wasn't Dook. I'd ask anyone going to the UNC game this year to meet me on Franklin St. for a beer but it seems I'm busy on Sept 20th. Well maybe in 2010. Thanks for all you and the rest of the "team" has done to raise money and put this together. Awesome job. Oh and one more thing, what in the world is a Boston Butt?

Here is the 411 from Wikipedia. “Boston Butt is a cut of pork that comes from the upper part of the shoulder from the front leg and may contain the blade bone. Smoked or barbecued Boston butt is found in the southern U.S. It is said that in pre-revolutionary New England and into the Revolutionary War, some pork cuts (not those highly valued, or "high on the hog," like loin and ham) were packed into casks or barrels (also known as "butts") for storage and shipment. The way the hog shoulder was cut in the Boston area became known in other regions as "Boston butt". The name "Boston butt" is not used in Boston but is used in other parts of the U.S.”

I know I'm a little out of the loop down here in NC but I noticed on the reunion schedule that the picnic at Pocahontas State Park is not listed anymore. Is that off now? I hope not, since that is the only event I will be able to attend. Sorry I couldn't be much help in planning, etc, but distance does make a difference. Hope everyone had a great weekend.
