Both of my children enjoy sports. My husband, Clark More…was an all American baseball player for the University of Tn. He then was a graduate assistant coach for the team for two years. We now use our throwing arms to serve in our tennis matches.
Both of our children are swimmers and cross country runners. You'd think we would have some big base/softball players but we haven't spent much time around the baseball fields since having our children. We do enjoy biking, swimming and running, and tennis.
Our daughter recently met Pat Summet (U.T. women's coach). She plays bball and says she wants to play for Pat someday. Who knows!!
Our son's avg 5k is 22 min. He has run his best mile time at 5:27. Needless to say I am a proud Mama!:)

Comments:

When I left Dinwiddie in 1990 I moved to Knoxville to attend graduate school. I taught at the University of TN and worked with the women's tennis team. I received my M.S. in Sports Psych in 1992, I have 24 hours of post grad work beyond my masters. Maybe I will pursue a doctorate one day.
I taught and coached at Roanoke College in Salem, Va. after grad school and coached the women's tennis team. I also taught at Cave Spring Jr. High while I was in Salem. After being married in '93 we moved to GA. I became a full time fitness professional with Apple South Inc. working in their fitness facility while my husband went to at GA for his PhD.
We moved back to Knoxville in '97 the day Princes Diane died. Bad way to remember a date!

School Story:

I started teaching in 1984 at Dinwiddie Elementary School. The school housed grades 4-7th while I was there. I moved to the high school and taught physical education and health from '88-'90.
I coached the Jr. High softball team from '85-88. I coached the girls tennis team from 85-'90 and the boys team from '88-'90.
I also taught aerobics in the gym two days a week for the Rec Dept. We started with 6 people the first session and grew to over 60 particiapants when I left Dinwiddie in Aug. 1990.
I worked at Sutherland Manor Swim club from '86-'90 where I taught several Dinwiddie students lifeguard training.
Dinwiddie High holds lots of happy memories and friendships for me. I love this website created by the '89 class. It is so friendly and makes me feel like I'm coming home for a warm visit. The six years I served in Dinwiddie were fun. I'm glad I had the honor and priviledge to work with, teach, and coach. I learned many things from all of you. My life is full of blessing b/c of many of the lessons I learned from coaching and teaching in my early years. I am currently in my 24th year of teaching. Yea, crazy how time flies!!!
Thanks for inviting me to your website and the reunion coming up in Sept. I am planning to attend. My brother and mom still live in Dinwiddie and a near by county.
